It's no secret that I can hardly pass a thrift store without going in. I have managed to control the urge at times but, for the most part, it is beyond my control. Now, I don't always buy something when I am there, but sometimes, I just HAVE to go in and see what I can find. In fact, I walk out empty handed more often than not. Ragan is usually game to go with me, but Makenzie is not a fan. She likes to find a good deal, but she always feels like she needs a few doses of hand sanitizer upon leaving the store.
These are a few of my recent finds at the Goodwill store......
This little dough bowl was a great find for me. I saw it from across the store and practically ran over to it. Then I grabbed it like someone was about to rip it out of my sweaty little hands! I paid $4 for it.
I found this hanging box a few months ago. It was someones wood shop project and it had the name Danny and the year 1979 written on the bottom. I painted it black but I think I will rough it up a little bit more. It was $4.99...is it bad that I thought that was too much??? I am glad I didn't put it back! :):)
This little frame is about 2"x6". It had a mirror in it and painted green an gold. I thought it would be cute with a little stitchery in it. It cost me $1! WOOHOO!
Again...this was some one's shop project. I love these kinds of things!! I think it cost me $7.....I added the glass knob and the dowel across the bottom. I am stumped, though, as to what to do with the opening.....I can't decide if I should put some chicken wire, screen, glass, fabric, or punched tin.
Because I can't decide I can't hang it up!
Are you a yard sale junkie, too??? Tell me what treasures you have found lately!

What great finds, especially the little hanging box. I've only recently started haunting the charity shops, since we moved and have more space for 'stuff'. I've bought some lovely things too, I ought to try and take some photographs.
Not a one! I never see wooden things like that around here so I enjoy seeing what everyone else finds. Love the shape of that bowl!!

I am the biggest garage sale, goodwill, thrift store junkie I know!
Your finds are stupendous! I would never have thought of transforming those skinny mirrors into a frame...pure genius! I love the alphabet stitchery that you added to it!
I will definately have to keep my eyes open for some of those!
Those are great finds, love the little cabinets. I think I'd use something see-through for the second one, I like the chicken wire idea. I find great stuff nearly every week. Don't you just love that feeling of anticipation when you start off on a thrifting trip?
I would go with you in a heartbeat. I am also addicted to yard sales--I saw a whole list for this Saturday in the local paper-can't wait to go. Your finds are great. I especially like the ABC stitchery--great idea!! Have a nice day. Julie
You are so creative! I love what you take from trash to true treasure - good job!
I love the stitchery. I love all your finds. We have similar tastes, you know!
BTW- I would go for chicken wire....
You are too cute!! I am super jealous of your craftiness because I am so not! Although I do LOVE a good deal... maybe I need some lessons from the expert! It was so fun chatting with you on Sunday (even if we were a little disruptive during Sunday School)! ;)
Nice findings! I love the little cupboard.
JoAnne, Great finds, especially the hand made ones. You and I have the same issue - black paint! Love it. Can't wait to see the little cupboard done when you decide on the finish for the door. ~Ann
I wish I was a yard sale junkie (with four little kiddos it doesn't prove to be as easy). However - watching what you get and what you do with them gives me great pleasure.
