My, OH MY What a Wonderful day....

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment. I finally relented and made the appointment after several months of menopause issues that had been hindering my quality of life. Let's just say that I am no stranger to female problems and leave it at that. I hadn't been to the doctor since moving to Arizona, and quite frankly, I was not looking forward to it--At. All. It wasn't the funnest thing that I could think of to do with my morning. However, I do like my new doctor, despite her calling me "hon" or "honey" about 10 times too many. She is my age and knew from experience exactly what I was telling her about. As I drove home, ( and still trying to shake that feeling of being a bit violated....)I was pondering on the many things that she asked me to do before my re-check in 3 months.....( Blood work, ultra sound, and mammogram -yay me!) and how I was going to be able to fit it all in. I was just feeling a little overwhelmed. Well, I got home and found this lovely surprise!!! It just made my day! (sorry--no photo of the package because I was RIPPING it open as I ran in the house!) A while ago, Kimberly at My Brown Bag Studio asked me if I wanted to do a table runner swap with her. She certainly didn't have to ask me twice, I'll tell you!! Kimberly has the most wonderful blog full of many wonderful projects. She made this absolutely fantastic runner for me! Look at the detail work...HAND quilted, no less! I really admire those who can take the time (and have the patience) to do hand work! Wow! So much work! I seriously just stood there looking at it and touching it....... And if the runner wasn't enough, she included this little ornament. It makes me excited to get our Christmas decorations out! THANK YOU Kimberly! Getting this really made my day! I JUST LOVE IT! I hope you get yours soon! ;)

That wouldn'e be my favorite thing to do in the morning either! I prefer a drive thru trip to McDonalds :-) But we moms must take of ourselves too!

I second that UGH! But those things like mammo's can prevent future problems so I just do them. I know right now is not the best time for you to fit more in so I hope it isn't too hard to get them fit in when it works best for you.

What a gorgeous runner. Once again, I so admire you talented quilters!!

The quilt runner and the ornament are wonderful! Kim is so talented and she seems to just whip up her quilted items so quickly! I'm amazed!

Doctor's appointments and tests are so annoying. I hate going to them but I also worry that if I don't go what could be wrong and I won't know it. So I guess it's better to just make them and do as you are told....

Have a great day!

Hey Jo-Anne,

I am sorry to hear about the doctors and all of the struggles you are facing right now. I enjoy the humor in your posts as to tell us all about the trials.

I ahve to agree with everyone else that the runner & ornament are fantastic. I wish I had an ounce of talent to something like that!!!
