Whatcha Workin' On Wednesday, Olympic Update, & Preschool begins!

Here is what I have been working on this week... It's the bag for my swap partner. This is just a little teaser, mind you, because I have discovered from reading other blogs that I am giving away too much information. And, I would hate for her to figure out who I am and ruin the surprise! I will say that the colors I used were requested by my swap partner. It has been interseting using such spring colors when all I want to work with right now are fall colors! :) This is a picture of my first attempt.....let's call it a prototype... The actual bag that I will be sending does not look like this. Preschool has been in session for a week. Yesterday we played with some shaving cream. I will just say that I had to put on a video for 10 minutes to clean up the aftermath of that activity. It was a big hit, however, and the kids and the room smelled wonderful! Craig is having a good time over in China. He has been able to do some real bargain shopping a the "Silk Mart". He can really chew down at the vendors prices! He has been ripped off by a taxi driver and is mad about that but now he knows what to do for the next time. (That taxi driver better hope Craig doesn't jump in HIS taxi again....) Jill has been practicing well despite a nagging knee injury. She throws on the 16th. The TV will probably not show the womens shot put event, as they hardly ever show any of the throwing events. But, she is on a Home Depot commercial that is shown frequently. She is the girl chalking up a shot put!! There was also a really great article published in The Church News if anyone would like to see it. (Our churches newspaper publication) I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

I love those colors! Your swap partner is a lucky girl! She'll love whatever you have, I'm sure!

Joy & I, especially, have been looking for Jill on the Olympics. So...we'll be watching for the Home Depot commercial. I know you must miss your hubby, but how exciting it is that he's actually in China at the Olympics!

You're a brave woman with all that shaving cream! Do you have a preschool in your home or do you homeschool? (Sounds like stuff we've done at home in homeschool sometimes!) :)

The bag is very cute. And feminine. (And springy.)

I took my children to a children's museum in Gettysburg a few years ago and they had a room of shaving cream for the kids to play in. It did smell wonderful. And the best part? I didn't have to stay and clean it up!

Your pay it forward surprise is on it's way. It was shipped today. I hope you like!

That shaving cream activity looks like something my boys would like. I'm sure it was fun to clean up. :)

I love the yo-yo's on the bag. I remember doing the shaving cream activity for Joy School. We did it out on the driveway, and I hosed it down when done!! What a great experience for your hubby to be in China. Have a great day. Julie

I love the bag! Super cute!!! We met Karl for lunch today, after preschool, and Kyra went over to him and said "I told Mrs. Carter that you didn't give me a hug and a kiss before bed last night." And unless you want me to tell her next time, it better not happen again!"
