A new treasure for me

I have been wanting Craig to make one of these for me for a LONG time. (It's not like he's busy or anything.....) Then, I was asked to come up with an idea for a craft to make at our churches Enrichment Night. I immediately thought about this. It's a magnet board. This is the result of a trial run for the activity to see how long it takes to build, what the cost is, etc. It was a little more difficult to make than I anticipated. (it could have something to do with the fact that is was 500 degrees out in the wood shop...)Anyhow, I may need to re-think making them for the craft night....Sara, are you reading?? I will come up with something, don't worry. :) But, I love it! I think I have painted everything lately this lovely shade of black. Although, after reading the blog, From My Cherry Heart I have discovered the aesthetic beauty of the color red. Here it is all purdied up with a few pictures of our family and friends.... A big thanks to Craig, who so unselfishly builds me things in the very little free time that he has. (I will let Makenzie tell him that now SHE wants one!)

Hi Jo-anne! Thanks so much for posting my slide show. I love peeking at other homes and I hope some folks enjoy peeking at mine.

What a great idea for a magnet board. I love black, but I love my red too as you probably saw in each of my rooms - and the front door too!

AOL email is slow as molasses today so I will answer your email later. I was so excited to read about your sweet family!

hugs, Linda

Jo-Anne,

I love your prim magnet board! That is so cute! It's nice having a husband that build us things, isn't it?

It was so nice of you to post Linda's home on here too. She's got a great prim home! I just love it!

I have to say your post of the "hat" pictures below made me smile! Very cute!

Stop by and visit my blog sometime. I'd love to have you!
I'm saving you to favorites, so I can remember to stop in and visit often!

Have a great week!
Tammy

I love this! I love the black paint too. I have most things painted red but as my sister says, 'Every room needs a little black for balance" And I find myself going with it often. I don't know how Craig is finding the time!

I have one with a red frame. My house is red and black- pretty much some of that in every room. (I even use to have red couches) I love my magnet board. My sis. and brother -in -law made them for C-mas one year. I think you have too much fun crafting and creating! Lucky :)

Hello, thank you for stopping by my site! Isn't having twins like nothing else? Not that I have had singletons so I can't really compare :O) My boys are 8 and really close, just now starting the brotherly love fighting stage:O) I really like your magnet board, so neat!

I think it looks great. It just stinks when the simple things turn out to take way longer than we anticipated!

I have been wanting to buy magnetic paint and paint the doors into the kids half bath. It's a Jack and Jill style. I painted Shane's closet doors and his bathroom door with Chalkboard paint a few years ago and they love it. But I was thinking magnetic paint would be great and then personalized magnets so they have a place, instead of just the fridge, to plaster with their stuff :)
