That's my Girl!!

My Makenzie started college yesterday. She is having a later start than usual but it's not because of her lack of trying. It's because of complications with our move to Arizona (during her and Mark's senior year) and her SAT test, different credit requirements and some other things. In the meantime, she has been working, working and working and also saving, saving and saving. Now she begins her journey of working AND going to school. I am so proud of her and her ability to plan for her future by getting an education and by saving her money so responsibly.
I have no doubt that she will be able to be successful in her endeavors. She is so smart and organized that she will do just fine. (She just wrote a very profound and intriguing post on her blog that maybe you would like to read.) I sure do love you, Mak.
**Is it weird, though, that I wanted to go with her and make sure she made it to her classes safely?? ;)

Awww, I'm having a 'mom moment' here myself today Jo-Anne! Emily got an award last night that made us pretty proud. These girls - smart, beautiful, sweet... making me feel SO inadequate!

And by the way, Makenzie looks just like her momma!

How exciting! I love the energy of a college campus - thinking of the time when I can go back...(I understand the part of you wanting to go too, it's because you such an awesome mom)

Lol! My Molly starts at University in February. She can't wait. I think if I offer to go with her though she'll disown me!

JoAnne, She is such a beautiful girl. With her organiztional skills I'm sure that she will do just fine in college. I can't imagine letting a child go off to college - please remind me in 3 years when I face this that everything will be ok! Have a great weekend. ~Ann

Good girl! Get the education while you're young and have the time... it just gets harder later!

She is gorgeous....
I know, first hand, about 'letting go'. Sara will be 33 in April and I still think of her as my baby. It does get easier but the love stays the same. I can hear the pride in your words and it is well-placed.
