There is always such a void for me when it's all gone every year. Hence the melancholy. As I have been puttering around this last week, I have had many opportunities to not only reflect on the last year, but also the past decade. There have been many, many changes in my life. There have been lessons learned, joys and disappointments, heartaches and happiness and so very much to be grateful for.
With that thought, I am looking forward to 2010. I believe that it will have much in store for all of us.
Be safe tonight as you bring in the New Year. (I will be a youth dance for our church--YAY me!!)

Happy New Year Jo-Anne! My DH and son are up to the church as well. I stayed home to bring the New Year in with my mom and my sister.
This time of year I always sing to myself Michael McLean’s song, "I cry the day that I take the tree down"....
I haven't begun to take my Christmas down yet. I just got it all up and lugged all the tubs back up stairs to the attic.....
I have been putting it off!LOL

Oh, Hon, I am so sorry for your feelings of melancholy. I know what it is like--an empty nest feeling. All the joy of the season has gone and what's left is cabin fever. Just the beautiful decorations being gone makes me sad.....Everyday is an adjustment, for sure.Blah..... But there are many, many happy days and times ahead. The sun is gonig to shine on my back yard again! Smile :) We have so much to be thankful for. And I know that in your heart, you loved that dance!!!

I hope you had fun at the dance. I'm not Mormon, but my best friend growing up was, and I remember spending several New Year's Eves at dances with her. They were so much fun. My folks never had to worry either, because there were always plenty of adults there too! Have a wonderful New Year.
