Mother Nature is messin' with me!
The funny thing about living in Arizona is that the months change but the weather really doesn't. It's just hot. Hot all the time. And as many of you have read before, I get pretty grumpy when I am hot. I sweat like a guy and it's just, well, gross. I have my A/C turned down so it is going all the time...I don't even care when that $300 electric bill comes. (okay-I do because it cuts into my thrift shop perusing fund) But, I am willing to sacrifice in order to stay cool.
I hear about parts of the country that are cooling down and I am completely jealous. I read about you pulling out your Fall decorations. But, Mother Nature keeps telling me to wait...that it's just not time yet. To me, Fall means cooler days and nights, sweaters, long pants, leaves turning colors, hunting for just the right pumpkin, football games with a blanket, shoes AND socks. Right now, Fall just means it's still hot and the kids get to wear their Halloween costumes without a coat when they go trick-or-treating. A blanket at the football games (or in my case, the volleyball games) is there only for the purposes of fending of my chronic case of bleacher butt. I won't be wearing long pants until way after Christmas (if at all!) and palm trees don't ever change color. I am totally out of whack here.
I just finished up a few little projects so I think I will get out my fall fabrics. Maybe if I run my hands over the fall colors, it will help...It won't hurt anyway!

Oh Jo-Anne, Wanna trade for a while? I live in the Lower "Rain"land so when fall really does hit, it will be with a vengance! But I am looking forward to it. This morning was the first day back to school and there was even a touch of fog in the air.
Maybe you should come for a visit! Or, instead of swapping projects, we could swap residences for a while... Hmmm... maybe I'm on to something here...
Feel better! Kimberly
I haven't noticed any fall colors here in the valley quite yet, but maybe in the mountains. I am not ready for the fall and I'm just in a daze right now about it. I'm right there with you on the needing to be cool or COLD. I don't tolerate the heat well and it turns me into Mrs. Cranky!
Amen! I'm ready for some cooler weather too!
Oh Jo-Anne I feel for you! I would be the same way!! Do get out those fabrics and create something wonderful for yourself. You deserve it for putting up with all that heat!
Sending cooling hugs, Linda
Hi Jo-Anne; Well it is the same here in N.C. so I can understand how you feel. And we used to live in Glendale Az... so I know all to well how hot it gets... so go and get your fall fabric and sew up something fallish.... I Pray that the it does cool off for you soon,, I get very cranky too... hang in there....
Hugs;
Alaura
i totally feel you but i still put up my fall decorations! and we watch christmas movies that make me feel cold if i close my eyes!
Fall is definitely the best in the midwest--no brag, just fact. I have lived where the seasons have distinct qualities and cool evenings are the best part. Sleeping with the windows open and no A/C. Gotta save for that awful heat bill and we keep our furnace on 64'!
Someday I would to go to Maine or Vermont for fall. They say it especially beautiful there and I would like to experience.
Turn up your A/C and heat some cocoa and snuggle under a blanket while you watch candles flicker with your Craig....If it's fall in your heart, you can be there!
Jo-Anne you have just helped me decipher my grumpiness puzzle. I always feel grumpy! And right now Arizona is sounding a lot like Adelaide! As far as I am concerned summer runs from about September to April here. March and April (autumn) are just as hot (and sometimes hotter) as the summer months! And for us there is no real spring. We start hitting the high 20's (celcius) right away. Our weather bureau is saying the trend for this coming summer is for a hot summer because of the heatwaves Europe has been having. I read in England they had a heatwave, which they define as 5 days over 30. What a laugh! Here it is not considered a heatwave until you have 10 days over 37.
Hope Arizona does something out of the ordinary and cools down!
