The Saddest Day

Today was not a good day. We had to make the gut wrenching choice to put our sweet old doggie, Rudy, down. We got home from Utah and he was visably sick. We watched him for a while to see if he would snap out of it like had done so many times before, but this time we knew it was the end. We have all cried and cried. And then cried some more. We will miss him so much. He gave us 14 1/2 wonderful years. Hopefully, with time, the sting of his absence will lessen.

JoAnne, I am so sorry about your dog. It is such a tough decision. My heart goes out to you today and in the days to come. A pet becomes such a part of the family, they just worm their way into our hearts. ~Ann

So sorry Jo-Anne. That's not a fun way to end a vacation at all. When our dog died, one the most healing things I do for me(and us) was to put together a scrapbook. It has been looked at time and time again. It really helped us a lot. I hope time helps you all to feel better. Sorry again.

How was Utah? Did you get to some quilt stores? It would have been fun for us to meet. The next time you come, and if you have time, let's get together!! I've missed your posts--glad you are back!!

Hope you have a nice day. We are celebrating the 24th today, so lots to do--hope we don't bake in the heat!! Take care. Julie

I'm so sorry. :-( They become family and it's a hard thing to let them go.

We have an old momma dog that is 15. She is pretty ruff, and we keep asking ourselves if we should take her to the vet, then she acts so spry and follows me on my walks and goes to turn water with DH and we just can't do it....but I don't know how long she will hold out before she gets to that point.....

How sad :(
A pet becomes one of the family, I hope as each day goes by it will only get better. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It's always hard to part with a family pet. We had two cats for 13 years that we still talk about and miss. My thoughts are with you and your family. On a lighter note, did you have fun in Utah? I'm sorry I missed seeing you. Maybe next time.

I am so sorry to hear this. We've been in this same situation and even though it's been over a year, we still can't talk about our little buddy without choking up. Our dear pets bring so much love to our lives we can't help but miss them when they are gone. God bless you. Twyla

I am sorry Sweetie, I know how much you loved Rudy. The comforting part is knowing that his spirit lives on just as ours does, and you will see him again.
I read in the articles of faith book that Joseph taught this concept about all creatures.
I believe it is true.
Take care and hugs and love, Pennee

sending warm thoughts your way. we (my family growing up) suffered through two very tramatic dog deaths at our home. it was too much. I just can't bring myself to get my kids a dog now. I hope time heals your heart.
