Whatcha woking on Wednesday

Here's something I have been working on..... It's a red and white little quilt that I will put out for February. I also have another red and white quilt top and two table runners that I am working on. My little sewing machine has been a real trooper.
I have a question for all you wonderful people out in blog land......
When you have fabric that is a little too bright and you dye it, what kind of dye/color of dye do you use? My other little quilt is just too bright of a red and way too white for my liking.
Thanks in advance for you thoughts!
Make it a great day-:):):)

What a lovely little quilt!

How about some RIT? dye in Tan..I have heard that it works so nice. I have heard that you water it down first and then spray on.

I second the RIT dye using the Tan color. Water it down though, and spray it on just like walnut dye.

What a beautiful quilt:)

I used tan rit dye once and it was great. Aged the colors just enough.

Love your snowball quilt. I haven't ever dyed anything before -- sorry I can't help!

LOVE the quilt, my favourite so far! Just wondering what rit dye is?? I have never heard of it here in Ireland.

Love the quilt. I keep seeing all of these quilts and I really want to make a simple patchwork for my bed, but I'm just too chicken! LOL

RIT dye in Tan is what I've heard, too. It looks like tea stain without the mess :)

Have a great day!

Hi Jo-Anne--- Love what you are making. I use liquid tan rit dye. You can get it at Joanne's or Wal-mart. It works very well. I have also used tea and coffee--but don't care so much for the smell.

We might need to be thinking of another trade soon--Spring is just around the corner:)!!

Have a great day. Julie
