After much deliberation.....

......and three trips around the fabric store, a decision has finally been made. Makenzie, Ragan and I had a lovely girls day out on Saturday. We had our nails done, went to lunch, did a little school shopping and picked up some fabric for a few of the vintage patterns we got at goodwill a few weeks ago. Ragan picked out 3 that she really liked right after we acquired the treasured patterns and reminded me regularly that we needed to go to the fabric store. However, after 20 minutes in the fabric store I realized that I was slightly regretting the whole idea. She was rather a picky little thing about her fabric selection. "It's too busy...., It's too shimmery...., It's too old fashioned....," was what Makenzie and I kept hearing. If I found one that I thought would work she would say, "Geez Mom....I'm not 5 anymore...". ** disclaimer: I wasn't trying to sell her on the Strawberry Shortcake fabric...:) SOOOooo, after much pondering, having to take a second number from the cutting counter (we got passed over for taking so long....) and nearly knocking over an entire rack of fabric bolts, the fabric has been chosen, cut and purchased. Here are the winners! Ragan loves these full skirts! She picked the black and white pattern thinking she could wear a red, yellow or white shirt with it. For this dress Ragan picked the pink and brown fabric. MAkenzie surprised me with a request for one of these dresses, too. Her choice of fabric is the black and white with the daisies. Finally, Ragan thought this skirt would pretty in the olive green paisley print. Makenzie chose the red flower print. We got all this fabric at 60% off, so for 3 skirts and 2 dresses the grand total was $44. I was pretty excited about that! Let the sewing begin!!!

Oh I can't wait to see the finished products. To bad I can't read a regular pattern to be able to sew. I can read crude prim patterns, but not a clothes pattern to save my life. LOL.

Your daughters have great taste.

Funny description of your day shopping. I have to live the mother/daughter thing vicariously through your blog. Can't wait to see how they all turn out. Fun fabrics!

I love the choices the girls made. I was just wondering...the Dress...it is the full skirt or the straight skirt. Love the fabric choices! I can hardly wait to see how they turn out.

I thought of your patterns today and then I was checking blogs and laughed when I seen you posted again. I was at Goodwill and looking at board games for our boys and just below me was a plastic milk create stocked full of patterns :O) I wish I was better with sewing clothes, I've done some pants, baggies, but that was it. My first attempt I some how managed to make the waiste line reach my neck :O) I stick to simpler things with no patterns for now :O)
Have sew much fun on your projects!
