I need your help!

I need some blogging help. I really stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a quilt swap. Mind you, I have very little details about it yet but I am (very true to form) already worrying about it. Anyway, it is to be a "summer" quilt swap and I don't know which colors to use!! (Go to http://fourseasonsquiltswap.blogspot.com/ for more information) So...I have devised a way to enlist your help. If you leave me a comment telling me what colors you think of when you think S U M M E R, I will enter your name into a drawing for this little hand made (by me) dolly...... She is a sweet little rag dolly that will be happy to come and live with you. But please know that if you take her, her kitty comes too. She comes complete with pearl brooch, homespun apron, and kitty purse. If you post this little give-away on your blog, I will enter your name a second time. You see, I need all the help I can get!! I will hold the drawing on Friday,May 23rd. In your comment, please leave me an email address so I can contact you in the event that you are a winner! If your name is drawn, I will use your color choices in the quilt!

When I think "summer", I think of a sunset...so...yellow, orange, pink/purple. I also think of the ocean...so...turquoise, greens, and "ocean blue". I'm definitely a blue-girl, so I think I like that better! What kind of quilt are you going to do?
Oh, and my email is

Summer makes me think of two things! The SUN and WATER...Yellows and Blues. But wait, now that I think of it...It also makes me think of Pink Lemonade...so Yellow and Pinks. Take your pick. Cute idea...I have no idea how a swap works...Sorry! You know who this is...so, if I win...let me know. :)

When I think of summer I think of flowers, intensly colored annuals. Deep bright pink, intense yellow, bright blue and deep purple, crisp white and a bright green.

I've always been afraid to join a swap so hats off to you for taking the plunge.

For summer I think of white, yellow and all shades of blue: Light blue reminds me of a breezy afternoon and dark reminds me of July 4th festivities! But with a quilt I think you should do light blue, yellow and white - so very summery! I love your rag dolly - did you make her?

Ummm...a summer quilt. Maybe different shades/patterns, but of one color. I would say you could do green, but maybe if you were talking about a summer somewhere other than Tucson! Or blue for the beautifuly clear skies here, or nice cool water. I'm so excited to see the end quilt!

I think of yellow, blue, green, and pink. I love the bright colors and love how they make me feel.

The first colors I think of are yellow (lemonade) and red (strawberries). But, I think yellow and pink would make a lovely combination, like pink lemonade or strawberry lemonade.

Or maybe red and white. Cherries/strawberries would be terribly cute! (With maybe some gingham or dots thrown in the mix.)

Cute Jo-ann! So darling. Raggedy Ann, Love it.

I love yellow for summer the most. Of course my favorite colors are red and yellow. Yellow is so fresh for summer. You can accent with any color, mostly.

Good luck with it! Fun stuff.

What a cute dolly! Don't enter me in your give-away though -- I'm feeling guilty for all the good things that have come my way and you should spread the love! Thanks for your sweet e-mail -- you're a peach. If you send me the error you're getting when you try to comment, maybe I can try to help you figure out what's going on.

Summer quilt colors - red, blue, white, yellow, green, lavender - soft florals. A quilt that makes me sigh! :-) Good luck with the swap - you'll enjoy it.

Summer to me would be soft yellows, blues, greens, pinks and white. Eyelet or battenburg (not sure on the spelling of that one) but something along the lines of shabby chic. I think Darlene's comment of "a quilt that makes me sigh" is a perfect description of a summer quilt. Have fun!!
